Iron-Man Mountain Championship Set for 201, Richmond & Mountain Motor

SOMERSET, KY (April 22, 2016)—A seven-race Super Late Model Championship tour has been organized by Chris Tilley of CT Promotions, Jarrod Breeding of 201 Speedway in Sitka, Ky., Tony Sturgill of Mountain Motor Speedway in Isom, Ky. and the Yantz Family of Richmond (Ky.) Raceway.

The seven-race Super Late Model tour will feature five races paying $3,000-to-win and $250-to-start, one race paying $5,000-to-win and $300-to-start and the 12th Annual Iron-Man Classic event at Richmond Raceway pays $10,000-to-win and $500-to-start. Each feature event will have 20 starters. The Richmond Raceway event will feature 22 starters. After night one, there will be one provisional starting spot (20th place) each night for the highest driver in the points that doesn’t make the feature event. Purses and points fund for the seven race mini-tour are in excess of $98,000.

The May 7th Thunder Road Moonshine Runners 30 will pay $3,000-to-win at 201 Speedway in Sitka. The June 17th and August 5 races at Mountain Motor Speedway will pay $3,000-to-win. The June 18th Walter “Peg” Combs Memorial will pay $3,000-to-win at 201 Speedway while the August 6th Hatfield/McCoy Feuding 50 will pay $5,000-to-win, also at 201 Speedway. The 12th Annual Iron-Man Classic will pay a record $10,000-to-win and $500-to-start on June 25th at Richmond Raceway and the final event will pay $3,000-to-win for the Halloween 30 on Saturday October 1st at 201 Speedway.

The May 7th event at 201 Speedway will be significant as the winner or highest finisher from the $3,000 Moonshine Runners 30 race will have a guaranteed starting spot for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series-sanctioned Bob Miller Memorial paying $10,000-to-win on July 1st.

At 201 and Mountain Motor Speedways during each touring event, the Open Wheel Modifieds, Bombers and Four Cylinder Stocks will be on the racing card. At Richmond Raceway June 25th, the Open Wheel Modifieds, KDRA Super Stocks and Mini-Cup/Cyclones will be in action.

A points fund from CT Promotions has been set for the seven-race series and will pay the top-three in the final points as follows: First $500, Second $300 and Third $200. This is based on six completed events.

The highest finishing driver on American Racer Tires each night will receive a $100 product certificate. Michael Luna with Victory Signs & Design will be giving away a free wrap to one lucky driver that has perfect attendance at the end of the mini-tour. A random draw will be used to determine the winner of the wrap. More contingencies will be announced at a later date.

The tire rule for each event will be as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1600 along with the American Racer 44, 48 and 56 compounds. Entry fees of only $50.00 will be charged at the Mountain Motor and 201 Speedway events and the entry of $100 will be charged on June 25th at Richmond Raceway. The entry feels help contribute to the point fund and administrative costs. The Richmond Raceway event will be co-sanctioned with the Southern Nationals Bonus Series. Standard Southern Nationals/Lucas Oil/World of Outlaws body and technical rules will be used. Southern Nationals weight rules and procedures will be in effect at Richmond Raceway and engine bonuses will be paid at Richmond from the series. Format each night includes hot laps, qualifying, heat races, last chance races and the main events. No cars will be locked in through qualifying at any event.
