Only a month away, the KRS Graphics Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by DIRTonDIRT.com gears up for the 8th annual mini-series.

With a little over thirty days away from the start of the 8th annual Appalachian Mountain Speedweek presented by DIRTonDIRT.com, the series, drivers and fans are starting to feel the excitement build up, anticipating the start of the annual mini-series. Back again this year will be the Fast Time, Hard Charger and Hard Luck Awards along with numerous product awards given to the drivers during each event. The Series is proud to announce, that with the help of all our wonderful marketing partners, we again WILL NOT charge the teams any entrance fee to come and put on a show for the fans.

With over $150,000 up for grabs throughout the 7 scheduled events, the 2016 edition will be the most lucrative since the speedweek’s inception in 2009. In addition to all that cash, Bernheisel Race Components, Booze Brothers Performance, Close Racing Supply and Keyser Manufacturing Co. will present gift certificates to random drivers at each race on the 2016 schedule.

• Bedford Speedway will kick-off the series on Friday, June 3rd at the historic Bedford Fairgrounds. The Speedway is celebrating their 80th year of operation in 2016. • Staying with the Fairground tradition the series heads to the beautiful Port Royal Speedway the very next night where the super late models will join the high powered 410 sprint cars for the $4,000 to Win/$400 to start 40 lap race on Saturday, June 4th. • Sunday, June 5th sees the speedweek series hit the 1/4 bull ring of Path Valley Speedway for a 40 lap event. The first ever visit of the high powered super late models will garner the winner a cool $4,000 with $400 to take the green. Path Valley will also utilize the Monday June 6th date as a rain date in case of inclement weather on the 5th. Check them out at www.pathvalley.com

• After a few days off, the series and its drivers will head to Hesston Speedway for not only their first speedweek race at the facility but also, it will be the first 2-day event in speedweek history. The event will see two separate complete programs on Thursday, June 9th and Friday, June 10th. The Thursday portion will be a 30 lap affair paying $3,000 to win with $350 to take the green. On Friday, the cars & stars of the Appalachian Mountain Speedweek will take part in $5,000 to win, 50 lap championship race that will also pay $500 to start. • On Saturday, June 11th the series heads south of the Mason Dixon line to the Capitol of Dirt Track Racing, the Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown Maryland. The only speedway to host an event in all 8 years of the speedweek existence will see the drivers battle for an added purse of $5,000 to win over the 40 lap distance. • The series concludes at the new Selinsgrove Speedway on Sunday, June 12th with a 40 lap feature that will pay $4000 to the winner with $400 to start. Under new management, Selinsgrove will also host the awards ceremony following the event. They have an exciting schedule planned for rejuvenated half mile. Ernie D’s FAST TIME AWARD - $200
Ernie D’s Enterprises will sponsor the “Challenge the Clock” Fast Time Award at all 7 races. The fast qualifier at each event will receive an additional $200 from Ernie & Connie Davis.

D&D HARD CHARGER AWARD - $200
D&D Auto Recycling has come onboard to present the Hard Charger Award at all 7 events. The driver that advances the most positions in the feature event each race will receive a cash award of $200 courtesy of Doug Timmons.

MBH HARD LUCK AWARD - $100
MBH Race Cars will once again sponsor the series Hard Luck Award. At each event that driver experiencing the toughest night as voted it on by the series will receive an extra $100 presented by Billy Vacek and MBH Race Cars.
