Lincoln Speedway Prepares For Huge Friday, May 20 Sprint Car Event Tony Stewart's Arctic Cat All Star Circuit Of Champions Headed To Central Illinois Winged sprint car fans throughout Illinois and beyond have had Friday, May 20 marked on their calendars since the 2016-Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions schedule was announced. This year's schedule includes an Illinois date and that race is coming up at Lincoln IL Speedway at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Joining one of the longest running car organizations will be the UMP Pro Late Models, UMP Midwest Technical Institute Modifieds, and the POWRi/Illini D-II Midgets Presented By Nutech Seed. NASCAR driver, Tony Stewart, purchased the series from Guy Webb one year ago, becoming the fourth owner of the 46-year old series. This year, the tour has already made visits in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania with races in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and New York also scheduled. The Illinois visit is the first in many years for the popular midwest series. So far this season, veteran open wheel star, Dale Blaney, of Hartford, Ohio leads the standings, claiming wins at Attica Raceway Park and Port Royal Speedway. Blaney has also taken top fives at Wayne County and Selensgrove with a top ten at Bedford. Blaney will be one of the favorites, no doubt, at the Lincoln Speedway event. Fellow Ohio driver, Chad Kemenah, trails Blaney by 34 points early in the season. Kemenah has been outstanding as well, winning recently at Bedford, while claiming top fives at Attica, Wayne County, and Port Royal. A 24th at Selinsgrove is what put the deficit where it is now. The top five in series standings are finished off by Sheldon Haudenschild, Ryan Smith, and Cap Henry. Others in the top ten include T.J. Michael, Tim Shaffer, Lee Jacobs, Danny Holtgraver, and Caleb Helms. Expected travelers with the series also include Brent Marks, Andrew Palker, Kraig Kinser, Caleb Armstrong, and Bradley Howard who find themselves in the top 15. Leading up to next Friday's event at Lincoln Speedway, the series will be racing this weekend at Lernerville and Mercer, two Pennsylvania tracks. Kid, I hope you're right about the show not going 6 hours. We go to Macon periodically for the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midgets and about half the time those shows are almost like being held hostage. Sarge sometimes has 5 support classes and insists on running the midget A-main last or 2nd to last!

That said, we really like Lincoln. Good track, good facility and it's actually closer than Macon for us but ya' can't beat the midgets at Mighty Macon! The 4 & 5 support classes at Macon are sometimes a deal breaker, especially if we have to work the next day.

Arctic Cat All Stars Ready for Illinois/Wisconsin Road Trip INDIANAPOLIS (May 18, 2016) - After spending the first few weeks of the 2016 point season in areas of Ohio and Pennsylvania, the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will now transfer focus toward areas of Illinois and Wisconsin, moving into the Central Time Zone for the first and only time this season. “America’s Series” will make a first-ever appearance at one particular Illinois short track during their weekend road trip, followed by a night of head-to-head competition with the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Outlaw Sprint Series. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will launch their upcoming road trip with a visit to “The Prairie State” on Friday evening, May 20. Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, Illinois, will host the Arctic Cat All Stars for the first time in series history, welcoming the region’s top sprint car pilots for a shot at $5,000. The inaugural event will feature a complete, full-point program for the traveling All Stars, with many local invaders, including MOWA Sprint Car Series regulars, expected to make an appearance to challenge for the five-digit payday. The Lincoln Speedway invasion will be the first Illinois visit for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions since September 10, 2004, when Greg Wilson earned a trip to victory lane at Macon Speedway. Action will continue on Saturday evening, May 21, at Wilmot Raceway in Wilmot, Wisconsin. The Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions will battle head-to-head with the Interstate Racing Association (IRA) Outlaw Sprint Series during the Fifth Annual IRA/All Star Sprint Challenge, also awarding a $5,000 top prize. Despite Wilmot acting as foreign territory for many of the full-time Arctic Cat All Star travelers on the 2016 roster, the veterans on the tour have prevailed during prior appearances. Dale Blaney, a six-time series champion, has been victorious during the last five Arctic Cat All Star events in the state of Wisconsin, including the last four IRA/All Star Sprint Challenges at Wilmot Raceway. Blaney’s most recent victory at Wilmot occurred on July 25, 2015. Thanks and tell your wife I said thanks as well. Tell your wife I feel bad for her. I don't know what level of pain she was or is in but, if it's anything like what I had at the beginning of this I know how she feels and it's not fun.

Thank you kindly, I will pass that along to her. I will second your feelings regarding a conservative doctor. My wife luckily had a similar situation several years ago where a hasty surgery option would have been a mistake.

Her pain level varies from 5 to 6 up to 8. She is having a tough time not only with the pain but also having to be inactive. She is fanatical about getting things done and sitting or laying around doing heat/ice applications is not her idea of getting things done and that is a bad situation for the likes of her.

At this point the doctors are recommending a vigorous therapy regimen. It's worked for her before but the symptoms weren't as acute or painful as they are with this latest episode. I took her to Mayo Clinic the last time she was having problems and they advised us to go home, get hooked up with a reputable certified therapist for about 2 weeks and see where things stand. The neurosurgeon at Mayo said if no progress was made in 14 days he suggested surgery, any longer than that the nerves would begin to degenerate and there is no revitalizing them when that begins to happen. Mayo is a joint that treats surgery as a last resort 100% of the time. She responded quickly here at home and surgery was avoided, thank God.

She began having symptoms on Tuesday of this week and she is seeing the same therapist as before and the therapist is optimistic that we can avoid surgery again. We shall see, hope she's right.
