Billy Moyer Records Second Triumph of 2016 in Douglas Dodge 40 at Farmer City!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer Billy Moyer scored his second victory of the 2016 racing season on Friday night, May 6 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois! Billy clicked off the third quickest lap in his group during the qualifying session prior to bagging a heat race triumph. Billy then started from the pole in the 'Douglas Dodge 40' and led the final half of the 40-lap race to record the $5,000 windfall over Brandon Sheppard, Kevin Weaver, Dennis Erb, Jr., and Devin Gilpin!

A short trip to Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois then greeted the #21 team on Saturday evening, as another MARS DIRTcar Series and American Late Model Series (ALMS) co-sanctioned event took center stage. Billy knocked down the second fastest time overall during qualifying and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After rolling off from the inside of the second row in the $10,000 to win 'FALS Frenzy,' the popular driver known as "Mr. Smooth" bolted up to second during the 50-lapper before eventually settling for a solid fifth place performance behind only winner Bobby Pierce, Earl Pearson, Jr., Dennis Erb, Jr., and Brandon Sheppard. Full results from both weekend shows in the Land of Lincoln can be found online at www.marsracingseries.com.

“I’ve always enjoyed coming up to the Midwest and racing at places like Farmer City and Fairbury,” quoted Moyer following his strong weekend. “They are usually really racy tracks and last weekend was no exception. I am really happy with how we are running and the way (Billy Moyer) Junior and our other Billy Moyer Victory Race Cars customers are performing. The research and development stuff is on me, so we just have to get out there and tweak on these things some more. Hopefully, we can enjoy a couple more solid runs this weekend at Dubuque and Deer Creek!”

After scouring schedules and watching the weather all week, the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team made the decision earlier today to travel to the states of Iowa and Minnesota over the upcoming May 13-14 weekend. The Lucas Oil MLRA Series will preside over a pair of $5,000 to win battles on Friday evening at Dubuque Speedway in Dubuque, Iowa and on Saturday night at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Additional information concerning the MLRA double-dip can be accessed by clicking on www.mlraracing.com.
