Default Mark Martin to Hall of Fame

Along with classy car owner Rick Hendrick and [Buffet] Benny Parsons.

Mark gets his due. Memory of Alan K and what he accomplished as an independent owner driver should also find its way there.

One that will never get in but was as good of a driver as any one that has turned a wheel, Tim Richmond.

He didn't win his sports championship or biggest race!

Alan K before Richmond. Richmond was good, but Alan accomplished more IMO.

Mark Martin got summarily and decisively screwed out of the 1990 Winston Cup Championship. At that time I became very suspicious of NASCAR and from then on found repeatedly that our suspicions were founded. What happened to Mark Martin in 1990 began the slow but steady disenchantment with NASCAR. It took over a decade for NASCAR to completely erode any and all faith that the playing field was level for everyone. By reading Smokey Yunick's autobiography we came to understand how some things happened, and are continuing to happen.

Mark Martin belongs in the NASCAR Hall of Fame as much as just about anyone regardless of him not winning a much deserved championship.

    Congrats to Mr. Martin!!

Alan K, while being a sentimental favorite, isn't HoF material. Neither is Richmond, nor Davey Allison.

I don't see why not just because their careers weren't quite as long they all had a big impact on the sport.

I agree, I was going to say the only reason would be because their lives were cut short.

Wendell Scott is in the HOF only because he was the same color as asphalt. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I'm glad he is in the way Nascar screwed him over.

Agreed, Wendell Scott is deserving to be in the hall of fame. And, Wendell was repeatedly screwed over by NASCAR but no more than Mark Martin. Most notable was the shafting that Mark got in reference to the 1990 Winston Cup Championship.

How so? Nasty Nasky stole a whole championship from Martin, not just 1 race victory delayed like they did with Wendell because they didn't want him to kiss the white trophy queen.
