Dennis Erb Racing Seventh in LOLMDS Points Heading into Show-Me 100

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team followed the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series trail to a pair of venues in Wisconsin and Illinois over the May 20-21 weekend. On Friday night at Oshkosh Speedzone Raceway in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Dennis timed in thirteenth quickest in Group A during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the fourth and final transfer spot through his loaded heat race. After starting the $10,000 to win main event from the inside of the seventh row, Dennis wound up finishing right where he started the 50-lapper... in the thirteenth position.

At LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, Illinois on Saturday evening, a $12,000 top prize was on the line in the annual running of the 'Spring Shootout.' Dennis clicked off the second fastest lap in Group B during time trials at the 1/4-mile oval and later scored an impressive victory in his heat race. The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then rolled off from the outside of the second row in the 60-lap headliner and had a top five car until experiencing a freak mechanical issue that hampered the throttle linkage on his #28 machine. At the checkers of the 'Spring Shootout,' Dennis found himself eighth in the final finishing order and still sits seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings. The Dennis Erb Racing team will now turn their sole focus to the 24th edition of the ‘Lucas Oil Show-Me 100’ at the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri on May 26-28. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and Lucas Oil MLRA Series will co-sanction the huge tripleheader at the semi-banked 3/8-mile speedplant. Tonight’s show at Wheatland will be the annual ‘Cowboy Classic’ and Friday’s event will pay tribute to Don and Billie Gibson – both programs will pay $6,000 to the winner and $600 to start each of the respective 40-lap features. Saturday’s ‘Lucas Oil Show-Me 100’ grand finale boasts a whopping $30,000 windfall and $2,000 just to start the 100-lapper.
