Jeep Van Wormer Ready for American Ethanol Series Opener Following Top Fives

(PINCONNING, MICHIGAN) Jeep Van Wormer and his #55 team entered a pair of Super Late Model events over the May 20-21 weekend in their home state of Michigan. On Friday evening at the nearby Tri-City Motor Speedway in Auburn, Michigan, a regular weekly show was held and a $1,055 payday was on the line. Jeep won his heat race in preliminary action and later started the 25-lap feature from the inside of the sixth row. The Pinconning, Michigan star then worked his way through the field during the headliner to finish an impressive runner-up behind only race winner Dona Marcoullier.

At Merritt Speedway in Lake City, Michigan on Saturday night, a $3,000 winner's check was up for grabs in a UMP Super Late Model special. Jeep clicked off the second fastest time in his group during qualifying prior to running second in his heat race. After drawing the seventh starting spot before the drop of the green flag in the 30-lapper, Jeep was able to advance past a trio of competitors on the one-groove racing surface en route to a strong fourth place performance.
