    Saturday Night Showdown/Four Cylinder Fury Next Up at Richmond Raceway June 18

    Richmond, KY (May 29, 2016)- Richmond Raceway co-promoters Larry, Chad, and Sarah Yantz will have the 3/10 mile semi-banked red clay oval known as “The Beast of the East” idle for the next couple of weeks, but will return to action with the Saturday Night Showdown for the American Dirt Allstars AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks and Four Cylinder Fury for Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders, along with a full racing program for Sonic Late Models, Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds, and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones on Saturday June 18.

    Richmond Raceway will be off the next two weekends in support of the Ralph Latham Memorial at Florence Speedway on Saturday June 4 and the Dream 100 at Eldora Speedway on Saturday June 11.

    The next racing competition at Richmond Raceway will take place on Saturday June 18 and will feature the Saturday Night Showdown for the American Dirt Allstars AR Bodies KDRA Super Stocks, racing for $1,200 to win, along with the Four Cylinder Fury event for the Pro-Tow Towing Stock Four Cylinders, racing for $1,000 to win. Also on the Saturday June 18 racing program at Richmond Raceway will be a full racing program for the Sonic Late Models ($1,500 to win), Phantom Racing Gear Modifieds ($1,000 to win), and Warlock Race Cars Mini-Cup/Cyclones ($100 to win). All divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to determine heat race starting positions. Transponders are used for timing/scoring purposes (can be rented at the track) and RACEceivers are also mandatory in all divisions. All competitors are urged to be at the track and signed-in by 5:30 p.m. as that is when driver registration closes. Also of note, the three highest finishing drivers that utilize a Crate engine powered car will be eligible for bonuses. The highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $100 bonus, second highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $75 bonus, and the third highest finishing driver using a Crate engine will receive a $50 bonus. Additionally, there is an entry fee for the American Dirt Allstars portion of the event, which is $20 for series members and $30 for series non-members, with the entry fee including the transponder rental fee.

    Activities for the Saturday Night Showdown and Four Cylinder Fury events at Richmond Raceway on Saturday June 18 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m. and the general admission area open at 4:30 p.m. Driver registration will close at 5:30 p.m. and the drivers meeting will begin at 5:45 p.m., with practice set to begin at 6:15 p.m. Racing is set to take the take the green flag at 7:30 p.m. All times listed are EDT. Ticket prices and complete feature event purse information for this event will be released next weekend.
