Jared Landers Wins Prelim at Eldora; LOLMDS at Magnolia Next

Batesville, Arkansas (06/14/16) - Jared Landers claimed his second win of the 2016 campaign in his Crop Production Services #777 Mark Martin Automotive/Sweet Bloomquist/Durham Racing Engine Super Late Model on Friday night during the second round of the Dirt Late Model Dream XXII at Eldora Speedway.

On Thursday night Jared Landers competed at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) in the opening round of the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream. With 72-entries registered for the event sanctioned by the UMP DIRTcar Series, Landers edged his way into one of the two preliminary features with a 5th-place finish in his heat race. Coming from the 10th row, Jared improved six spots in the 25-lap affair recording a 13th-place outing.

The following night Landers followed up the 12th-fastest time in qualifying with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Shannon Babb. Earning the 4th-starting position for the feature, Jared worked his way to the front of the pack on lap-15. Passing race leader, Gregg Satterlee with a daring slider, Jared Landers went on to capture his second win of the season and a $10,000 payday. Landers was trailed by Scott Bloomquist, Gregg Satterlee, Ricky Thornton Jr., and Tim McCreadie to the checkers.

Starting on the front row of his heat on Saturday night, Jared needed a 3rd-place finish or better to make the 22nd Annual Dirt Late Model Dream finale. Losing one spot in his 15-lapper, Landers notched a runner-up finish behind Jon Henry, which earned him the 7th-starting spot for the $100,000-to-win, main event. Working his way into the lead on lap-4, Jared would surrender the top spot to a hard-charging, Tim McCreadie on lap-8. Slipping out of the top ten late in the race, Jared Landers recorded a 15th-place finish in the 100-lapper.

“We had a really good car all weekend, and it was good early in the 100-lapper,” noted Landers. “As the race went on though the handle began to go away. One of these days we are going to win a big one at Eldora.”
