Ray Cook and Stacy Boles in Action in Big Daddy 500 at Smoky Mountain Speedway

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Both Stacy Boles and Ray Cook were in action for Advanced Motorsports on Saturday night, June 18 at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee, as the Ultimate Super Late Model Series presided over a $5,000 to win shootout. Stacy qualified fourteenth fastest during time trials prior to grabbing the second transfer spot through his consolation event. After starting the 'Big Daddy 500' from the outside of the seventh row, Stacy had climbed up inside of the top ten early in the 40-lapper before suffering fuel pump problems, which dropped him to a disappointing twenty-first place showing.

Ray, who was debuting a brand-new Capital racecar, laid down the third quickest lap overall during time trials and later rolled off from the inside of the second row in the 'Big Daddy 500.' The Brasstown, North Carolina ace was then battling for the second position before the midway point in the race when he and Ricky Weiss made contact, which sent his #53 machine hard into the wall. As a result of the heavy damage, Ray was forced to retire from the event in the thirteenth position. Complete results from Smoky Mountain Speedway can be viewed online at www.ultimatesupers.com.

With Ray scheduled to take the upcoming June 24-25 weekend off as the fine folks at Capital Race Cars repair his damaged mount, Stacy will take a Steel Head Late Model to Wartburg Speedway in Wartburg, Tennessee for a regular weekly show on Saturday evening. The Clinton, Tennessee native will vie for a $1,000 top prize this weekend at the nearby facility. Additional information concerning Wartburg Speedway can be located online at www.wartburgspeedway.net.
