Sweetwater, TN - (July 2nd, 2016) --- Saturday night the United Crate Racing Alliance invaded I-75 Raceway in Sweetwater, Tennessee for the first ever event at Kyle family dirt track south of Knoxville. Lil' John Ownbey of Cleveland, TN did his thing as his # J0 "Sam's Restaurant Equipment, A+ Moving & Storage, M&S Motors, Denton's Wrecker Service, Stealth Racing Carburetor's, Austin Trucking" sponsored Longhorn racecar dominated the 40 lap "Summer Sizzler" event. The $2,500 to-WIN race opened up a two day Independence weekend of East Tennessee racing as twenty teams signed in for action. Georgian Chip Brindle and Anthony White gave chase to Ownbey the entire race. Cautions took out some top competitors including recent UCRA winner Kyle May of Alabama, Michael Smith of Crossville, TN, Performance Masters Inc, Fast Qualifier Kip Sawyer of Knoxville and UCRA regular Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN. Alliance member Forrest Trent battled current UCRA points leader Rusty Ballenger with the duo rounding out the Top 5. Alliance member Kenny Kizzar took the Performance Racing Engines $100 Hard Charger award of the race with a sixth place finish.
