Dennis Erb, Jr. Sits Seventh in Lucas Oil Series Points Heading into Southeastern Triple Shot

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) A Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader greeted the cars and stars of the national touring series on July 2-3 in the Buckeye State, as $12,000 winner's checks were on the line at Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio and Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio. On Saturday night at PRP, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran third in his heat race and later started the 'Independence 60' from the inside of the sixth row. Dennis then quickly vaulted up to fourth in the 60-lapper before problems underneath of the hood unfortunately dropped him to a disappointing seventeenth place performance.

At Zanesville on Sunday evening, another $12,000 top prize was up for grabs in front of a standing-room-only grandstand crowd. Dennis clicked off the sixth fastest time in Group B during qualifying prior to grabbing the second transfer spot through his heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the fourth row in the 60-lap headliner, the Carpentersville, Illinois ace was able to muscle past a couple of competitors on his way to a solid sixth place effort behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Don O'Neal, Jared Landers, Earl Pearson, Jr., and Brandon Sheppard. Dennis still sits seventh in the latest version of the LOLMDS point standings following the holiday weekend. Full results from both shows can be accessed by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

The Dennis Erb Racing team will follow the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to the southeast over the July 7-9 extended weekend for a trio of lucrative events in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee! Action will get underway later tonight at Fayetteville Motor Speedway in Fayetteville, North Carolina with a $10,000 to win throwdown, while a similar payout will be on the line on Friday evening in the annual ‘Grassy Smith Memorial’ at Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. The triple shot of racing action will then conclude on Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee with the 3rd edition of the ‘Mountain Moonshine Classic,’ which boasts a $12,000 payday. Additional information concerning these three races can be located by accessing www.lucasdirt.com.
