Kinzer Motorsports Bags Top Ten in Born Free 40 at Brownstown Speedway

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team traveled to 201 Speedway in Sitka, Kentucky and Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on July 1-2 for a pair of unsanctioned special events. On Friday night at 201, the annual 'Bob Miller Memorial' was held and a $10,000 payday was on the line. Brandon Kinzer knocked down the ninth quickest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to grabbing the fourth transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 50-lap headliner from the outside of the sixth row, Brandon had moved up inside of the top ten before unfortunately suffering terminal problems under the hood near the halfway mark, which dropped him to eighteenth in the final finishing order.

At Brownstown's legendary 1/4-mile oval on Saturday evening, a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs in the 2nd Annual 'Born Free 40.' Brandon clicked off the fifth fastest time in his group during qualifying and later placed fifth in his rough-and-tumble heat race. The Lexington, Kentucky driver then rolled off fifteenth on the grid in the 40-lapper, but quickly made his way up to sixth in the running order. Unfortunately, his soft tire combination faded a bit late in the distance and BK eventually slipped back to tenth at the checkers. Complete results from both venues can be viewed online at www.201speedway.net and www.brownstownspeedway.com.

The #18 team has elected to take the upcoming July 8-9 weekend off from Super Late Model competition. Their next scheduled event is Saturday, July 23 in the 19th Annual ‘Pete Abell Memorial’ at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky. The Ultimate Battle of the Bluegrass Series program is slated to pay $3,000 to the winner.
