Elkins Raceway Next for FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Touring Division Friday Night

(Carnesville, Georgia)7/11/2016 – This Friday night, Elkins Raceway hosts the next stop on the $100,000 FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division of the FASTRAK Racing Series. Throughout 2016 the 3/8’s mile semi banked clay oval located just eight miles north of Elkins West Virginia in Kerens, has hosted a number of marquee events. The Mid-Ohio Valley Division of The FASTRAK Racing Series event is part of the two day 6th Annual Richard D Skidmore Memorial weekend at Elkins Raceway.

To add drama to Friday night’s event at Elkins, a number of drivers from sister series FASTRAK Southeast Touring Series find themselves at, or near the top of the current FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division point standings.

As a result of the 11th Annual FASTRAK Triple Crown held over Memorial Day Weekend at Princeton Speedway, Volunteer Speedway and Wythe Raceway in events featuring both the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division and FASTRAK Southeast Touring Series, David Smith of Inman, SC finds himself in a unique position as he currently leads both the FASTRAK Southeast Touring Series point standings as well the FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division point standings.

Standing in Smith’s way to accomplish the near impossible, will be a long list of FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division drivers who call FASTRAK sanctioned Elkins Raceway home.

Ryan Montgomery, of Fairmont WV, Tyler Stutler of Lost Creek, WV and A.J. Spagnuolo of Shinnston, WV each have wins in 2016 at Elkins Raceway. Paul Wilmoth Jr, Eddie Hambrick, Tyler Bare, Troy Fisher, Garrett Paugh and Chad Green have also visited Victory Lane as well.

Defending FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division Champion Joel Prosser of New Martinsville, WV will be on hand and is always considered a threat to contend for the win.

As part of the 6th Annual Richard D. Skidmore Memorial weekend at Elkins Raceway, Super Late Models will be in action as well Open Wheel Modified, Street Stock, and mini Wedge. FASTRAK Racing Series late models will be in action as well on Saturday night, but the event IS NOT a FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Touring Division event.
Grandstands open both nights at 6 PM
