Terre Haute Action Track Geared Up For USAC Sprint Show USAC Sprint Cars Visit This Wednesday Night The USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car tour is in the midst of another exciting Indiana Sprint week. One of the seven events are completed with only a makeup race at Kokomo before the anticipated return to the Terre Haute Action Track this coming Wednesday night, July 13. Sprint week began on Friday night at Gas City I-69 Speedway with Tyler Courtney besting a field of 47 cars to claim the victory. Courtney did it in amazing fashion, coming from the back of the pack to win after an early race spin. Bryan Clauson and Chris Windom finished in podium spots. The 29th Annual Indiana Sprint week visit at Terre Haute’s Action Track should be a thriller, if the opening race of the week is any indication. Last year, Aaron Farney, a 19-year old from Brookston, IN, won his first career USAC Amsoil National Sprint Car event in the Don Smith Classic, slicing through traffic to pull away down the stretch. Nearly 40 cars were pitside for the event. The USAC Sprint week show at Terre Haute is a main attraction in the grandstands at the Vigo County Fair, which starts Sunday, July 10 and runs through Saturday, July 16. Race teams will have to enter from the backside of facility by turning right on Johnson, left on Union, and left on Fairgrounds Drive, as the main driveway through the fairgrounds will be filled with vendors. Fans will still enter the on the front side of the fairgrounds and parking will be free before 4:00, while the fair charges a nominal $5 parking fee after 4:00. Get there early to check out all that the fair has to offer, including some great food. Pit gates open Wednesday at 3:00, grandstands at 4:00, hotlaps at 6:30, qualifying at 7:00, and racing will begin at 7:30. Grandstand admission is $25, infield admission is $15, and children 10 and under are free. TERRE HAUTE INDIANA SPRINT WEEK POSTPONED TO SUNDAY

Terre Haute, IN……..Heavy rains and adverse weather have forced Wednesday night’s “Don Smith Classic” USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship race at the Terre Haute Action Track to be moved to Sunday, July 17. The race will now conclude Indiana Sprint Week, which continues Thursday at Lincoln Park Speedway in Putnamville, Friday at Bloomington and Saturday at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt. Wednesday tickets and pit bands will be honored Sunday at Terre Haute, with pit gates open at 3 pm. Grandstands open at 4 and the driver’s meeting at 6. Practice begins at 6:30, ProSource Qualifying at 7 and heat races at 7:30.

ndiana Sprint Week At Terre Haute Action Track Postponed To Sunday Heavy rains and adverse weather forced the postponement of the “Don Smith Classic” at the Terre Haute Action Track. The USAC Racing AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship race will now be run on Sunday, July 17 at the Terre Haute Action Track, where a championship will be decided. Indiana Sprint Week has had three event so far, Gas City, Kokomo, and Lawrenceburg, last weekend. After two days off on Monday and Tuesday, the group of star drivers were scheduled to resume their week of action on Wednesday at the Action Track but weather would not cooperate with three different waves of bad weather coming through the area, starting around 4:00 PM. The remaining events will be held on Thursday at Lincoln Park Speedway, Friday at Bloomington, Saturday at Tri-State Speedway, and now on Sunday at the Action Track. After many thought the Don Smith Classic would not take place due to weather, Wabash Fairgrounds officials, Track Enterprises promoters, and USAC representatives started discussing the use of Sunday as a backup plan. After a going over the pros and cons of coming back on Sunday, it was decided that the pros far outweighed the cons. Times on Sunday will remain unchanged from the Wednesday event with pits opening at 3:00, grandstands at 4:00, hotlaps at 6:30, ProSource Qualifying at 7:00, and racing at 7:30. Wristbands from the pits will be accepted as rain checks but must be turned in on Sunday to receive admission to the event. Grandstand admission will be $25 for adults, $15 for infield admission, and ages 10 and under are free. There will be no parking fees on Sunday, as the Vigo County Fair will end on Saturday night.
