That could be true. EPA might have made Hoosier add some chemical so they will be environmentally safe. If those tires have been setting around for a couple of years.

Hey Needle dik, I seen them with my own eyes, They were bought for Jimmy and Mike reece's son when he raced, He bought several loads of tires! He stored them at his business at Tazewell. There is noway possible all those tires have been used up by Jimmy or Reece's son!! His son quit racing and Jimmy hit the trail like horse poop for lying!! I could tell more but I will leave it at that!!

I have heard of go kart racers using really old (never ran) tires because they are much harder than new ones. Evidently really old tires for go karts are expensive. Could be the same thing with latemodels.
