Jimmy Mars Earns Pair of Top Fives with WOOLMS; Finishes Up Wild West Tour

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Mars Racing struck out to the states of Iowa and Minnesota from July 7-9 to enter a trio of World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series programs. Things kicked off on Thursday night at Hamilton County Speedway in Webster City, Iowa with an $8,000 to win showdown. Jimmy Mars posted the fifth quickest lap overall during the qualifying session prior to running second in his heat race. After drawing the outside of the front row before the drop of the green flag in the 40-lap headliner, Jimmy paced the stellar field for the first 33 circuits before eventually winding up second behind only race winner Brian Shirley!

On Friday evening, a $10,000 top prize was on the line at Mason City Motor Speedway in Mason City, Iowa. Jimmy placed fifth in his stacked heat race and later finished the caution-free 50-lap main event in the seventeenth spot. The tripleheader then wrapped up on Saturday with the annual running of the 'Gopher 50' at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, Minnesota, as an $11,000 winner's check was up for grabs. The Menomonie, Wisconsin star ran third in heat race action prior to advancing to fifth in the 50-lapper to trail only victor Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Rick Eckert, and Chad Simpson at the checkers.
