I don't know about that. There are quite a few times when I've left a track after the SLM feature before 410 Sprints or some other open wheel division (other than Mods).

    Thanks,
    Jeff.

There were 22 midgets, 22 late models, and 20 mortifieds.

4 of the midgets were Keith Kunz Motorsports cars. Quality of machinery was very good throughout the midget ranks.

POWRi put on a VERY good show with slide jobs on both ends of the track every lap. Zack Daum was out front by himself late in the A-main but the racing from second on back was phenomenal.

Congrats to Zack on his win at a track none of the POWRi guys had ever seen before.

the video was towards the front stretch stands. There was a bunch on the back stretch stands. P.S. if it wasn't for USAC Indiana Sprint week they might have had 6+ more cars there.

You're right on the money on both counts, HDF. There was a very good crowd in the backstretch grandstands. Not so much on the front stretch. I talked to a couple of Fairbury track personnel that stopped by our campsite Saturday afternoon and they were aware that the Indiana Sprint Week race at Haubstadt would probably hurt both the car count and the crowd but there was no other scheduling options available.

In the same conversation with the FALS people the subject of a 410 wingless sprint car race being held at Fairbury came up. They said there are some safety issues that will need to be addressed prior to any attempt at scheduling a sprint car race. With the POWRi show being such an overwhelming success the seed has been planted and some diversity in regards to race car genre' appears to be in the making at FALS. It's good to see that happening.

Thorson, Daum and Bayston were REALLY mixing it up in a big way during the early and mid portions of the A-main. The best racing I've seen all year to this point.

There seemed to be more than a few hard core Fairbury late model fans that left FALS with a newfound appreciation and acceptance of midget racing.

Can a USAC National Sprint Car race be in Faribury's future? After the quality of Saturday night's POWRi show I think there is a good chance.
