    $3000 To Win/$400 to Start Ultimate “BoB” SLMS Saturday at Ponderosa

    CARNESVILLE, Georgia (July 18, 2016) New track promoter Jamie Stumph and co-owner Larry Redenivs will present their first racing program at the helm of Ponderosa Speedway with a rare SATURDAY night event at the 3/8-mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with the 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial this SATURDAY July 23. The Ultimate “Battle of the Bluegrass” Super Late Models will be headlining the event in a $3,000 to win Feature. The American Modified Series will be on hand as well racing in a $1,500 to win shootout. Pro (Crate) Late Models are on the card as well vying for the $1,000 going to the winner, and KDRA Super Stocks will race in a $600 to win event.

    In an effort to accommodate race teams Stumph has extended an invitation to all race teams planning to compete on Saturday night to an open practice Ponderosa Speedway will host an on Friday evening July 22. Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and practice will take place from 7:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. There will be FREE admission in the general admission area, while a pit pass will be just $15. All race teams are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to get dialed in for Saturday.

    On Saturday, Ponderosa has a full night of racing action slated for race fans. The 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial will feature the Ultimate “Battle of the Bluegrass” Super Late Model Series in a full program that will include, qualifying, heat races, B-Mains, and the $3,000 to win/$400 to start 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial A-Main.

    The American Modified Series will also be in action with a full program as well including qualifying, heat races, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $1,500 to win/$200 to start A-Main. The Pro (Crate) Late Models will also be in action with a 20 lap, $1,000 to win main event and KDRA Super Stocks will compete as well in a 15 lap, $600 to win feature event. The Pro (Crate) Late Models and KDRA Super Stocks will utilize the practice/time trial combo format to set their respective heat race line-ups.

    The 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial event on SATURDAY July 23 will see the pit area open at 3:00 p.m., with the general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will tentatively take place at 6:30 p.m., with hot laps set to begin at 7:00 p.m. Qualifying will follow immediately thereafter for the Ultimate “Battle of The Bluegrass” Super Late Models and Modifieds, followed by green flag racing

    Tickets prices for the 19th Annual Pete Abell Memorial on SATURDAY July 23 in the general admission area will be $20 for adults, with children ages 12 and under FREE. A pit pass will be $35 for adults, with children ages 6 to 12 being $15, and children age 5 and under FREE.
