Rod Conley Solid to Start STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week; Fifth in Points

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Rod Conley, of Wheelersburg, Ohio, kicked off the STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week with three programs from July 21-24 and racked up a trio of Top Ten performances. On Thursday night in the opener at Legendary Hilltop Speedway in Marietta, Ohio, Rod ran second in his heat race prior to winding up sixth in the final rundown of the $3,000 to win main event. Following a rain-out on Friday at Moler (OH) Raceway Park, Rod finished tenth on Saturday evening in a $4,000 to win showdown at Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio and fourth in a similar battle on Sunday at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, Ohio. "Hot Rod" trailed only winner Doug Drown, Tyler Carpenter, and Devin Moran in the 40-lapper at Millstream and currently sits fifth in the miniseries point standings!

Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer Delmas Conley was the only other Conley Motorsports, Inc. (CMI) driver in competition over the weekend, as he ventured to Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio on Saturday for a weekly Super Late Model show. Delmas finished second in his heat race and later started the $2,000 to win feature from the outside of the second row. The patriarch of the racing Conley clan then took the lead on lap 11 of the A-Main, but unfortunately wrecked with a lapped car shortly after grabbing the point. Delmas headed pitside with damage and wound up a disappointing fourteenth in the final finishing order. Full results from each race can be obtained online at www.starslm.com and www.portsraceway.com.

The CMI teams will be hot and heavy on the STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week tour this coming week, as the series winds down with four more high-profile events.
