Aarons USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports

CARNESVILLE, Georgia (8/1/2016) – If you have never been there, ask anyone that has. There is no nicer, neater, better maintained racing facility in the United States. Neatly cut grass and a lot of it, pit parking that has Musco lightning, lights on the track at night that give the track a near daylight appearance, restaurant quality food affordably priced, aluminum grandstands, many with seat backs, a sound system that would challenge a that of a rock concert, elevators, suites, you name it and it’s there. Anything you could imagine at a speedway.

Virginia Motor Speedway is owned and operated by the Sawyer family who built Richmond International Speedway into one of the most liked facilities in the Cup Series by race fans and drivers alike. To say track management and staff are accommodating is an understatement. Recently in the grips of a heat wave, the Sawyers went to the trouble of temporarily installing mist machines, or “misters” in the grandstands and an ample supply of water was on hand for race teams which begs the question, when was the last time the local Saturday night track up the street did something like that?

Led by Bill Sawyer, how the Sawyers do things, the way they go about their business is something every fan, race team and even track owners should experience. Virginia Motor Speedway is truly the Taj Mahal of dirt track racing venues. Sawyer’s staff at VMS is top notch in the way race night is managed. There aren’t long gaps in activity on the track, race officials are quick to get cars on track, and even more efficient at resetting the correct running order after an on track incident.

Comparatively speaking, track workers are just as efficient in track clean up duties after an on track incident with a noticeable sense of urgency ensuring green flag racing resumes as quickly as is humanly possible. The ripple effect of the model of efficiency that VMS is even transcends to the fans in one sense not often seen, a trip to concessions or even the restroom is often at a pace that’s a little quicker so as not to miss any of the racing action on the track. Naturally food concession areas operate at the same high level of efficiency. If you’ve been to a Cup event, you are familiar with the stampede to the concession areas when there is a caution, it’s another area of focus Bill Sawyer and his team have not overlooked.

Clearly, the staff at VMS demonstrates how vital it is for each facet of track operations to work in concert with one another. Subsequently, everyone in attendance, race fans as well as the race teams. All benefit.

This weekend, race teams from both the FASTRAK Southeast Touring Division and FASTRAK Mid-Ohio Valley Division will be on hand to battle it out in a $3000 To Win / $400 To Start Event, part of the Aarons USA 100 presented by Commonwealth Motorsports.

Headlining the night will be the Ultimate Super Late Model Series in a $20,000 To Win, 60lap Main Event that caps off the four race Colonial Clash. Also on the card Saturday will be Truckin Thunder Sportsman, Budweiser Modifieds, and Collision One Limited Stock Cars.

While it is common to see a $20,000 To Win Super Late Model event stretched over a two-day period, perhaps one of the biggest points setting Virginia Motor Speedway apart is the amount of racing on tap Saturday which features not one, but two touring series Main Events: One ticket, one day, $20,000 To Win Ultimate Super Late Model Series Feature AND a $3000 To Win FASTRAK Racing Series Feature

FASTRAK Payout 1) $3000 2) $1,500 3) $900 4) $650 5) $650 7) $600 8) $500 9) $450 10) $425 11) $400 12) $365 13) $340 14) $325 15) $300 16) $275 17) $275 18) $275 19) $275 20) $275 21) $275 22) $275 23) $275 24) $275
