Southern Nationals Bonus Series Visit Smoky Mountain Speedway August 27th

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (August 1, 2016)—The lone season visit by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series to Smoky Mountain Speedway located in the foothills of East-Tennessee will be on Saturday August 27th paying $5,300-to-win and $450-to-start.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series event on August 27th will be presented by Food City. Along with the Super Late Models, the Sportsman Late Models will race for $1,000-to-win and the Street Stocks will race for $500-to-win.

The Sportsman bonuses offered up by Food City are still available for August 27th. If more than 24 cars are on hand, the event will pay $1,200-to-win. There will be $100 up for grabs for fast time, $100 for the hard charger and $100 for the leader of the most laps.

On Saturday August 27th, the pit gates open at 3:00, the grandstand and tier gates open at 4:00 pm and the driver’s meeting will be at 6:30 pm and hot laps will roll out soon after. Adult general admission is $20.00 per person while adult tier parking is $25.00 per person and adult pit passes are $35.00 per person.

The tire rule for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned event at Smoky Mountain Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. The series entry fee is $100. Also, the highest finishing driver using a CT525 engine package will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing driver using a Steel Head/SPEC engine package will receive a $200 bonus courtesy of the series.

In the only previous visit of the Southern Nationals Bonus Series to Smoky Mountain Speedway in August of 2014, Chris Madden of Gray Court, S.C. claimed the $5,010 payday during the 10th Annual Iron-Man Classic.
