Buddy Rogers Memorial up Next for Southern Nationals Bonus Series at Tazewell Speedway

BRASSTOWN, N.C. – August 29, 2016 – The Southern Nationals Bonus Series will start the month of September with a stop at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway on Sunday Night September 4th during the Eighth Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series Super Late Models will race for 44 laps and $4,400-to-win and $400-to-start. This will mark the third-ever series appearance to the high banks of the track nestled in the mountains of East-Tennessee. In addition to the Super Late Models, the Sportsman will race for $1,000-to-win, the Open Wheel Modifieds will race for $800-to-win, the Super Stocks will race for $600-to-win and the Classic cars will compete for the $350 top prize.

There will be a Fireworks show during the night. The pit gates will open at 4:00 pm and the grandstand gates will open at 5:00 pm. Adult general admission will be $20.00 per person and adult pit passes are $35.00 per person.

Chad Ogle is the defending winner of the Buddy Rogers Memorial as he claimed the $4,400 first place prize during the Southern Nationals Bonus Series race in 2015. Ogle won over Brad Hall, Dakotah Knuckles, Tommy Bailey and Billy Ogle Jr. No driver out of the state of Tennessee has won the Buddy Rogers Memorial event.

The Southern Nationals Bonus Series has seen six different winners in six events held thus far. Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word), Dale McDowell, Donald McIntosh, Jonathan Davenport, Zack Dohm and Chris Madden have all won events this season. Madden won the series’ most recent event on August 27th at Smoky Mountain (Tenn.) Speedway. Donald McIntosh of Dawsonville, Ga. leads the point standings into Tazewell Speedway over David Payne, Ryan King, Cory Hedge(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) and Doug Smith.

Tazewell Speedway along with Jimmy "Pup" Thomas of Hoosier Tire South is once again raising money for the American Cancer Society in conjunction with the Buddy Rogers Memorial 44. Drivers, fans, business owners, and anyone else can sponsor a lap for $44 (or more if someone choses to donate more). The tire rule for the Southern Nationals Bonus Series-sanctioned event at Tazewell Speedway will be as follows: Hoosier 1350 and 1600 along with the American Racer 48 and 56 compounds. The series entry fee is $100. Also, the highest finishing driver using a CT525 engine package will receive a $200 bonus and the highest finishing driver using a Steel Head/SPEC engine package will receive a $200 bonus courtesy of the series.
