Virginia Motor Speedway to Host Fastrak World Championship September 16-17, 2016; Extends Partnership with FASTRAK for Three More Years

Jamaica, VA – The excitement level and anticipation for one of the tracks premier events is at an all time high as Virginia Motor Speedway gets ready to host the $15,000 to win Aaron’s Fastrak World Championships presented by James River Equipment and Commonwealth Motorsports. The September 16-17, 2016 weekend will feature two complete shows for the FASTRAK Chevrolet Performance Late Models, Friday September 16 will be the $5000 to win, 40 lap World Challenge and on September 17 $15,000 to win, 60 lap World Championship is the “Super Bowl” of Chevrolet Performance Late Models and will crown a “World Champion”.

Speedway and FASTRAK officials are also pleased to announce that the track has exercised its three year option and will be the host track of the FASTRAK World Championship for another three years.

“We are excited to know that the FASTRAK World Championship is remaining at Virginia Motor Speedway for the next three years. I can’t thank Bill Sawyer enough for believing in what we are doing with the Chevrolet Performance Late Model division,” commented FASTRAK founder/owner Stan Lester.

Joining the program on Saturday September 17th will be the first visit by the Southeast Dirt Modified Series for the $3000 to win “Southeast Modified Showdown”.

The speedway is offering a tremendous two-day ticket price of only $40. The special ticket will only be sold on Friday September 16th. The special price is to encourage fans to attend both nights of racing. A two-day pit pass (regardless of age) is only $40 and will also get you a seat in the grandstands as well for the two days.

This race will feature the best of the best in Pro Late Model racing. Teams from Indiana, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, South Carolina, Ohio and Kentucky are about to undertake the most exciting and biggest race of their career.

Last year’s event saw 57 competitors compete with local star Walker Arthur of Forest, VA crowned the 2015 Fastrak World Champion.

The two-day event will also include the 2nd Annual High School Quarterback Challenge on Saturday September 17th pitting many of the areas talented signal callers competing to win a $1000 scholarship for their school.

Friday September 16th admission prices will be: Adults / Seniors (60+) / Military $15; Students (11-17) - $5 and Children 10 and under free with paying adult. Friday only pit pass $25. Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening at 5pm. On track action will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps.

Two-day or Saturday September 17th only admission will be: Adults - $40, seniors (60+) / military (active or retired w/I.D.) - $30, Students (11-17) - $5 and children 10 and under free with paying adult. Two-day or Saturday only pit pass $40. Competitor gates will open at 3pm with spectator gates opening 5pm. On track action will begin at 6:30pm with hot laps.
