Dennis Erb, Jr. Readies for Jackson 100 Following Top Ten at Knoxville

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing rejoined the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour from September 15-17 at the historic Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, as the 13th Annual 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals' thrilled fans over the extended weekend in the Hawkeye State. The three-day crown jewel spectacular kicked off with a pair of preliminary showdowns - each of which paid $7,000 to the winner. At the 1/2-mile Marion County Fairgrounds complex on Thursday night, Dennis Erb, Jr. ran fourth in his heat race, sixth in the B-Main, and seventeenth in the 25-lap main event. On Friday evening, Dennis won his heat race prior to slipping back to fifteenth in the final rundown of the 25-lapper.

By virtue of racking up the sixteenth largest point total of the 69 entrants during preliminary action, Dennis was locked into the outside of the eighth row for Saturday's 100-lap 'Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals,' which once again boasted a whopping $40,000 payday. The Carpentersville, Illinois star then bolted all the way up inside of the top five until running out of fuel on the final circuit, which dropped him to a ninth place performance. Dennis still sits fourth in the latest LOLMDS point standings exiting Knoxville Raceway. Complete results from the busy weekend can be accessed online at www.lucasdirt.com.

The #28 team will now turn their attention to the 37th edition of the ‘Jackson 100’ this upcoming weekend (September 23-24) at the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series biggie at the 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval will commence on Friday night with hot laps and time trials. On Saturday evening, the remainder of the ‘Jackson 100’ program will take place complete with heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap headliner, which will once again pay $20,000 to the victor.
