The newly formed ULTIMATE “Battle of the Bluegrass” super late model series will close out the season this coming Saturday night at the famed Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown Indiana. This will be the last event of the season for the BoB and also the Championship race. The series has raced at Brownstown twice this season with Kent ‘K Rob’ Robinson winning the first event and Mike Marlar of TN winning the second one. Marlar set a new track record for super late models and almost broke the sprint car track record while doing so. Both races have been phenomenal as this is the last race of the season it’s certain to follow suit. Three and four wide racing is the norm at Brownstown and this race should be even more exciting as competitors Jeremy Hines of IN, Derrick Fisher of KY and Dustin Linville of KY are battling for the points. Not only will the teams be fighting for the $3000 to win first place prize, but the coveted “inaugural ULTIMATE Battle of the Bluegrass Championship”.

The series was originally booked to be a ‘double header’ Championship weekend at Ponderosa Friday night and Brownstown on Saturday night. Unfortunately mother nature didn’t agree as the forecast at Ponderosa on Friday is 80% chance of rain. “I really appreciate the staff at Ponderosa taking into consideration these teams having to travel and cancelling it early” said Stan Lester of the series. “That allows the teams to do something else Friday and I know they like being made aware early”.

“I want to give all the teams in the area a special note of appreciation” said Lester. “They said they wanted a regional super late model tour in the area and the teams have supported it along with the local tracks and fans. We originally had 19-20 races on the schedule, but rain has played havoc on us this year. It’s really been a challenge, but rain or not the series will pay the point fund as originally stated”.

The inaugural Battle of the Bluegrass Champion will have the opportunity to have his car displayed inside the banquet hall at the beautiful Park Vista hotel in Gatlinburg TN in January along with his fellow competitors from the ULTIMATE SE Tour, the FASTRAK SE Tour and the FASTRAK MOV tour. It’s a huge night and celebration of champions from across the country in dirt late model racing and always a big hit with the teams, fans and tracks. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate.
