Dennis Erb, Jr. Heads South to Peach State Following Sixth Place Run in Jackson 100

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb, Jr. and his #28 team rolled into the legendary Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on September 23-24 for the 37th edition of the 'Jackson 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the mega event at 1/4-mile fairgrounds oval and 42 competitors signed into the pit area for the $20,000 to win contest. Dennis clicked off the fifth quickest lap in Group A during Friday's qualifying session and later scored the victory in his loaded heat race on Saturday night over Steve Francis, Brandon Sheppard, and Jonathan Davenport.

The Carpentersville, Illinois ace then started the 100-lap headliner from the pole position and led the first two circuits of the 'Jackson 100.' Dennis kept his #28 entry towards the front of the stellar field – despite a lack of drive – before eventually slipping back to sixth at the checkers behind only winner Scott Bloomquist, Jimmy Owens, Darrell Lanigan, Tim McCreadie, and Chris Simpson. He is now up to third in the current version of the LOLMDS point standings exiting the 'Jackson 100' weekend. Full results from Brownstown can be accessed online by visiting www.lucasdirt.com.

With the cancellation of tonight’s Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series stop at Fayetteville (NC) Motor Speedway due to inclement weather, Dennis and the rest of the stars of the series will turn their focus to a pair of lucrative races in the Peach State of Georgia on October 1-2. Up first will be the annual running of the ‘Dixie Shootout’ at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia on Saturday evening, while the ‘Rome Showdown’ at Rome Speedway in Rome, Georgia will wrap up the doubleheader weekend on Sunday night. A $12,000 winner’s check will be on the line at Dixie and a $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs at Rome. Additional information concerning both races can be obtained by logging onto www.lucasdirt.com.
