Jimmy Mars Sweeps Punky Manor Challenge of Champions at Red Cedar Speedway!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, swept this year's edition of the 'Punky Manor Challenge of Champions' at his hometown Red Cedar Speedway on September 23-24, as he claimed a pair of victories in both the Late Model and Modified divisions! Jimmy won his heat race in both classes on Friday prior to grabbing the point early in both main events on Saturday night.

The popular driver known as "The Iceman" pocketed $5,000 for his Late Model triumph over brother-in-law Scott Gilberts, Lance Matthees, John Kaanta, and Jake Redetzke, while he recorded a $2,000 payday for his Modified win over Cory Mahder and Ashley Anderson. Jimmy has now amassed ten 'Punky Manor Challenge of Champions' titles (seven Late Model, three Modified) in his illustrious career! Complete results from the two-day special event at Red Cedar Speedway can be accessed online at www.redcedarspeedway.com.

“Everything went really well at Red Cedar and it was a lot of fun,” quoted Mars earlier in the week. “Both the Late Model and Modified performed exceptionally and it’s always a great feeling to run good in front of the hometown fans. The Punky Manor is one of the biggest races on our schedule each year and it is an honor to have won it ten times now between the two divisions. Hopefully, we can keep things rolling into this weekend at Ashland and have some more success in the Red Clay Classic!”

Another late-season special is on tap for Mars Racing this upcoming weekend (September 30-October 1) at ABC Raceway in Ashland, Wisconsin. The 41st Annual ‘Red Clay Classic’ will be held this weekend in the Badger State and Jimmy plans to enter both a Late Model and Modified once again in the event, which will pay $4,000 and $3,000 to the winner respectively. Jimmy is the defending ‘Red Clay Classic’ Late Model winner and is a six-time overall victor in the storied race.
