Moyer, Jr. and Fields Top OctoberFest 2016 Main Events at Ponderosa Speedway

Junction City, KY (October 7, 2016)- Ponderosa Speedway would present its OctoberFest 2016 event on Friday evening and Billy Moyer, Jr. of Batesville, AK would take the $3,000 victory for Super Late Models and Josh Fields of New Tazewell, TN would score the $1,200 victory for Pro Late Models. Other feature event winners would include in Dustin Linville of Bryantsville, KY Modifieds, Jeremie Bretz of Maysville, KY in KDRA Super Stocks, Dave McCarty of Owingsville, KY in Stock Four Cylinders, and Dylan Rutherford of Corbin, KY in Mini-Cup/Cyclones.

Billy Moyer, Jr. would go to the race lead and the beginning of the 35 lap, $3,000 to win Super Late Model main event and would hold a comfortable lead throughout the race and would survive a late-race restart with four laps remaining to claim the victory in his Crop Production Services/Messilla Valley Transport/Karl Performance sponsored #21jr Moyer Victory Circle, Pro Power Race Engines entry. Michael Chilton would finish second, with Greg Johnson claiming third place honors. Jason Jameson and Cody Mahoney would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Chris Combs, Brandon Kinzer, Justin Rattliff, Shannon Thornsberry, and Connor Meade. Fifteen entries would see Jameson as top qualifier at 13.181 seconds and win a heat, while Moyer, Jr. won the other heat.

Josh Fields would lead the distance and capture the 25 lap, $1,200 to win Pro Late Model feature contest behind the wheel of the Debbie Fields owned Reece Monument/The Reality Group/Earl Heating and Air/Eagle Race Engines/Brucebuilt Performance/Joe Bray Roofing #11 Rocket Chassis, Eagle GM604 powered machine. Connor Meade would claim runner-up honors, while Todd Coffman would drive to a third place finish. Grant Garrison and Gary Yeager would round out the top five. Completing the top ten would be Victor Lee, Chad Spradlin, Jake Henry, Jeremy Strunk, and Derek Bottoms. Seventeen entries would see Gary Yeager as top qualifier at 13.965 seconds, while Fields and Meade won the heat races.

The Modified feature event would see Dustin Linville hold off a charging Victor Lee in the final few circuits and Linville would score the victory in the Stanley and Connie Haddix owned Haddix Racing Parts/Coleman Engineering/Johnny Maco Electric/Area 51 Shock/Graphic Impressions/Cameron Hall Photography/Tim Short Automotive sponsored #53 Swartz Race Car. Lee would finish second, with David Webb, Kelly Riggs, Cy Cundiff, and Tim Patrick completing the finishing order. Six entries would see Lee be top qualifier at 14.911 seconds.

Jeremie Bretz would be victorious in the KDRA Super Stock main event in the seat of the Mark Swartz owned Swartz Enterprises sponsored #3x Chevy Monte Carlo entry. Logan Preston would finish in second, with last week’s winner Bartley Grant finishing third. James Crowe and Troy Clark would complete the top five. Sixth through tenth would go to Casey King, Johnny King, Sarah Patrick, Terry Cheeks, and Buzz Williams. Twelve entries would see Eddie Stewart as top qualifier at 15.673 seconds, while heat wins fell to Bretz and Crowe.

Dave McCarty would come out on top of the Stock Four Cylinder feature contest, driving the Swartz Enterprises sponsored #AR-15 machine. Last week’s winner Dylan Stevens would take runner-up honors, while Shane Irvin would finish third. Tyler Hayes and Craig Robertson would complete the top five. The rest of the top ten would be Clint Cox, Keith Gipson, Dalton Cox, Nick Royalty, and Shannon Carter. Twelve entries would see Stevens as top qualifier at 19.582 seconds and win a heat, while McCarty also won a heat.

Dylan Rutherford would win the Mini-Cup/Cyclone feature event behind the wheel of the Deborah Rutherford owned Dependable Auto Sales/The Tint Shop sponsored #14 MMI Chassis entry. Andrew Parson would finish a close second, with Blake Brown finishing third. Brown would be the top qualifier among the three entries at 20.040 seconds.
