Brandon Kinzer Grabs Top Ten in OctoberFest; Trip to Talladega Short Track Next

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) Brandon Kinzer and his #18 team traveled to a pair of dirt venues in the Commonwealth of Kentucky on October 7-8 to compete in two unsanctioned Super Late Model specials. On Friday night at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky, a $3,000 winner's check was up for grabs in an event deemed as 'OctoberFest 2016.' Brandon laid down the fourth fastest lap overall during the qualifying session and later ran second in his loaded heat race. BK then ran towards the front early in the 35-lap feature event before encountering a couple of restarts where he got hung up on the outside, which dropped him back to seventh at the checkers.

At Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, a $2,000 to win program was held during the track's Season Championship spectacular. Brandon ran fourth in his heat race prior to starting midpack in the main event. The Lexington, Kentucky driver was then unfortunately involved in an incident early in the headliner before battling back from the rear with his battered racecar to salvage a fourteenth place effort. Full results from both Ponderosa and Florence can be obtained by clicking on www.ponderosaspeedway.net and www.florencespeedway.com.

Kinzer Motorsports has opted to take the October 14-15 weekend off from racing action, but will be working feverishly to ready their equipment for an upcoming doubleheader at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on October 21-22. Accompanying the NASCAR visit across the street at Talladega Superspeedway, a pair of shows will be held at TST in conjunction with the big race weekend. An unsanctioned event for the Super Late Models will pay $2,000 to win on Friday night, while Saturday’s Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) program boasts a $4,000 top prize.
