we have a 355 inch in a 302 block with brodex spec heads that is good on a slick track , but it don't weigh any more than the big alum motor, we do get a 100 lb break for it and like I said, its good in the slick, just not enough power on heavy track. whats weird, if we run it as a spec engine, we get no weight break, but if we run it as a 362inch or less, steel block with alum heads, we get 100lbs , and can do what we want to it. these are SAS rules , don't make sense to me, but ill take the little motor and 100lbs in the slick any day, JMO
we run a 388 steel block with alum. heads in late model also, we are around 200lbs heavier but on a small slick track we are competive with the alum. motors. where we run there is no weight break and even if there were watch would be nice, how would you take over 100 lbs off the front anyway, so we stay on the small tracks with our setup.
