    Default Prelude to the Dome

Does anyone else think this is a dream to make this happen in Mid Illinois Dec 3rd?

How hard can the ground be and still get this race in? Not to mention they'll be plenty of snow down. If they turn it a couple times a week will that keep it workable to race?

Belle Clair is racing December 3rd. 2k for supers and 1k for modifieds. Being that we don't get any real winter weather around here until January, I say unless it rains, it will be okay.

Springfield, MO ran last year on December 5 so it is possible. They caught a day where it was in the mid 50's. It should be a afternoon race because of temperature drop off in the evening. Can cancel if weather doesn't work out, they cancel races during the summer if it's to warm.

The promoter said that as long as the weather was dry and at least 35 degrees, it would be a go.

For those of you not from the area, Belleville IL is a SMALL track. But its going to look like Talladega compared to what youll see in the dome. How they are going to pull off a late model race in there defies common sense thinking, but I hope im wrong. I hope its successful so we have a dirt race to watch in winter.

The Big 12 Football Championship has been played on that same weekend in Arrowhead (Kansas City) for a number of years at night. A day race should be fine if it is not raining.

The weather is a lot nicer in this region during that time (early December) than it was back in those years.

I ran the first race of 1986 at 12:01AM at 141 Speedway in Wisconsin.... but it was still a paved track back then. I think we had about 60 cars in three classes.....

I don't just believe it, I have experienced it, as I live in that area.
