Billy Moyer Pockets $13,000 for Deep Fried 75 Triumph at Duck River!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) "Mr. Smooth" Billy Moyer recorded his eleventh feature victory of the 2016 campaign over the October 14-15 weekend at Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee! On Friday night, Billy clicked off the sixth fastest lap in Group A during Southern Nationals Bonus Series qualifying and later placed second in his heat race behind only prelim winner Chase Junghans.

After starting Saturday's 75-lap 'Deep Fried 75' from the inside of the fourth row, Billy methodically worked his way to the front of the field and eventually grabbed the point from Tanner English on the 66th circuit. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer then led the remainder of the distance to pocket the $13,000 windfall over English, Caleb Ashby, Ricky Weiss, and David Payne! Full results from the 'Deep Fried 75' weekend can be accessed online at www.southernnationalsseries.com.

“I started out the race working the bottom of the racetrack before moving up and rolling that middle,” quoted Moyer following the completion of the ‘Deep Fried 75.’ “That’s where the track was the best in the late stages of the race and it just worked out for us. Tanner (English) did a great job – he just hit those holes and shoved a little bit on the lap I passed him for the lead. It was a good win for us and we will try to keep things rolling heading into Whynot this coming weekend!”

Next up for the Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team will be the 22nd edition of the ‘Coors Light Fall Classic’ on October 21-22 at Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, Mississippi. The unsanctioned Super Late Model special will start on Friday night with qualifying and heat races, while the two-day showdown will be capped off on Saturday evening with the consolation events and the 100-lap headliner. A $15,000 top prize has once again been established for the ‘Coors Light Fall Classic’ winner. Billy is always one of the favorites each time he visits Whynot and has finished inside of the top ten in each of his last five visits, including an impressive runner-up performance last season.
