Kinzer Motorsports Preps for Ponderosa Doubleheader on Heels of NASCAR Weekend

(ALLEN, KENTUCKY) The Kinzer Motorsports team rolled into Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama on October 21-22 to enter a big doubleheader, which was held in conjunction with NASCAR's visit across the road at Talladega Superspeedway. On Friday night in the $2,000 to win weekend opener, Brandon Kinzer qualified ninth quickest in his group during time trials prior to grabbing the third transfer spot through his B-Main. BK then moved up several positions during the unsanctioned headliner - despite one groove track conditions - and was placed fifteenth in the final finishing order.

At TST on Saturday evening, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) came to town to preside over a $4,000 to win shootout. Brandon posted the eighth fastest lap in his group during qualifying and once again finished third in his consolation race. The Lexington, Kentucky driver's #18 MB Customs mount was then unfortunately ran over by another competitor at the start of the 40-lapper and he subsequently retired a few laps later in the twenty-fourth spot. Complete results from the Talladega Short Track double-dip can be accessed online at www.talladegashorttrack.com.

While the #18 team will sit idle over the October 28-29 weekend, they will start preparing for a pair of special events at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, Kentucky on November 4-5. The unsanctioned ‘Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial’ will kick things off on that Friday night with a $3,000 to win showdown. On Saturday evening, the Southern Nationals Bonus Series will roll into the “Pond” to preside over the annual ‘Fall Classic,’ which boasts a $10,000 top prize.
