Billy Moyer Jr. Claims WoO Rookie Title; Ponderosa Next

Batesville, Arkansas (11/03/16) – Billy Moyer Jr. put a wrap on an outstanding first season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series over the weekend in his Crop Production Services #21jr Billy Moyer Victory Race Car/ Pro Power Racing Engine Super Late Model.

When the final checkered flag dropped on the 10th annual Bad Boy Off Road World Finals at the Dirt Track at Charlotte, Moyer Jr. was crowned the 2016 WoO Rookie of the Year and also registered a 5th-place finish in the final standings.

“I’m so proud of the season that we had with the series this year,” said Moyer Jr. “Our goals this year were to win the rookie title, win at least one race, and learn as much as possible. It feels great to know that we accomplished every goal that we set.”

He went on to say, “We have so many great sponsors of our team, and without any of them this year would have not been possible. I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish on the tour in 2017!”

Wrapping up his rookie season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, Billy Moyer Jr. traveled to the Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, North Carolina) on Friday night for the opening round of the two-day Bad Boy Off Road World Finals. With 69 cars registered for action, Moyer Jr. secured his spot into the opening night A-Main with a runner-up behind Shane Clanton in his heat race. Starting in the 9th position for the $12,000-to-win main event, Billy battled the handle on his entry as he slipped to a 19th-place finish in the 50-lapper.

Returning on Saturday night for another $12,000-to-win main event, Moyer Jr. fell one position short of a transfer spot in his heat race with a 4th-place finish. Transferring into the B-Main for another shot the A-Main, Billy came up short one spot again, forcing him to rely on a provisional to make the show. Coming from the 25th-starting position, Billy Moyer Jr. gained six spots registering a 19th place finish.

This weekend, November 4-5 Billy Moyer Jr. will travel to Ponderosa Speedway (Junction City, Kentucky) for a pair of big shows. On Friday night a $3,000 top prize will be on the line for the winner of the 16th annual Hugh “Junebug” Rowland Memorial. Saturday will pay $10,000 to the victory in the 26th annual Fall Classic, which will be sanctioned by the Southern Nationals Bonus Series.
