    Default ring gaps

I was wondering what latest is on ring gaps for 2618 forged pistons. Instructions for circle track on rings is .0045 for 1st and 2nd rings. Instructions for Pistons show .0040 for 1st and 2nd rings. This is for 11.5:1 2bbl street stock 4.060 bore 5.7 stroke. Seems like used to used .0045 top ring and .0055 second ring. These are total seal conventional rings.

    .0045 x 4.060 = .018 for top ring ,.0055 x 4.060=.022 for second is what I use.

.018 depends on how close top land is to top of piston. you might butt weld . I like .022 1st & 2nd

We build our 4" bore engines with .022 top and .024 bottom as a rule of thumb.
My sarcasm is a pre-emptive strike to your stupidity!!
