Seymour, TN (November 26, 2016)- 411 Motor Speedway and CT Promotions would present the inaugural “Leftover” event and Dale McDowell of Chickamauga, GA would lead all 50 laps of the event and hold off the advances of Jimmy Owens in the late stages of the contest to claim the $5,000 first place prize. McDowell’s victory would come aboard the Bad Boy Off Road/Boyd-Bilt Fabrication/Cometic Gasket/Klotz Lubricants/ONOH/Bass Pro Shops/Team Dillon Racing sponsored #17M Sweet-Bloomquist Race Cars powered by an Earnhardt-Childress Race Engine.

Dale McDowell would take the lead at the drop of the green flag, with Jimmy Owens and Donald McIntosh giving chase. McDowell and Owens would establish themselves as the top two contenders immediately, but a caution for a slowed Mack McCarter would slow the action on lap 6. The restart would see McIntosh motor past Owens for second, while Jackie Boggs would win a three-wide battle for fourth over Jason Hiett and Michael Chilton. The only other caution of the event would fly on lap 8 when Brandon Williams would loop his machine in turn 3 and the entries of Chicky Barton and Harrison Hall would get collected in the incident as well.

The restart would see Owens work by around McIntosh for the runner-up slot on lap 9, but McDowell would turn the wick up on his machine at this point and would begin to motor away from the field and would begin the process of working to lap slower traffic on lap 16. McDowell would be slowed in traffic a bit and this would allow Owens to close in on McDowell by lap 21, but McDowell would work traffic beautifully over the next eleven circuits until he and Owens would both have clear track in front of them by lap 32.

The action would not be finished however, as McDowell would catch a group of four drivers racing for position by lap 40 and this would allow Owens to close back in on McDowell. The pair would work through this group of cars and would catch more slower traffic by lap 44. Two laps later, Owens closed right in on McDowell’s rear bumper and was able to look under McDowell in turns three and four to complete lap 48, but McDowell would flex his muscles on the final circuit and work by one more slower car and hold off the charge of Owens for the victory. Owens would settle for the second position, while Donald McIntosh would claim the third position. Boggs and Hiett would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten finishers in “The Leftover” event would be Jason Welshan, Layne Clifton (last car on the lead lap), Jason Cardwell, Chilton, and Ryan King.

In Open Wheel Modified action, KC Burdette of Parkersburg, WV would take the lead from Jimmy Owens on lap 7 and proceed to claim the $1,200 payday for the division in his Penske Shocks/Octane Race Products sponsored #44 Lightning Chassis. Owens would finish second, followed by Lucas Lee, Clayton Miller, and Victor Lee. Completing the top ten in the event would be Brad Hall, Shon Flanary, Ervin Vance, Joey Cotterman, and David Webb.

411 Motor Speedway and CT Promotions will present the 7th Annual Hangover event at the track on Friday December 30 and Saturday December 31, with Super Late Models racing for $4,000 to win and Open Wheel Modifieds have been added to the Hangover event as well. Full details concerning the Hangover event will be released the first full week of December.
