Being a long time attendee of The Great Black Ice, I doubt they would sell it anytime soon. IMO, if that day ever comes, there will be a new dirt track built down by Kentucky Speedway. Just a longer trip for some of us.

Two and a half miles up the highway from the Speedway the town of Union has grown from 1002 to approx. 7000 since 1990. And with Richwood and Walton growing also they are closing in on the track slowly but surely. Something to think about. These suburbs of Florence keep getting a lot bigger. Union I read has the highest standard of living in the state.

The highest standard of living there means a double wide.

Look at Queen City speedway pavement track over in west Chester. Big office and parking facility took awhile but yuppies got their way.

can you imagine what type of racing might be at Santa Fe now?? been 20 years since they had a big race there and now sit big dollar homes paying 18-30 grand a year to live there just n prop taxes

hope Florence doesn't sell but also it still could & it doesn't need to be the type neighborhood like where Santa Fe was

Try again. Average home price within 5 miles of the track is at least 300k, with some million plus spreads mixed in. Boone County is a pretty wealthy county, all things aside. Lots of good employers, several very good school districts, 20 minutes to Cincy. The land is worth a lot too, just not as much as the horse farm acreage that rings Lexington.

Florence speedway is here to stay. Rumors are all for naught. Yes, I know this to be a fact. They will not ever be forced to sell it either.

They will not be force to sell, ever. Could they choose to sell some day? Not on the radar. I told them I would squash the rumor. Josh in California.
