Gateway Dirt Nationals cost to attend?
curious what 4m members paid for their weekend in St L.
I have a pretty good grasp on what it costs my father and I to attend all three days of the Knoxville Late Model Nationals. just looking for a comparison.
also: based on the cost to attend, will you return for year 2, or did you attend because this was a once in a lifetime event?
got to give credit to those who put on the show. been several innovators attempt big dream projects. a few succeeded. many others suffered failure.
hope the race teams and fans enjoyed the show. always fun to remember being part of the "first" or "only" event. (bet the number of fans claiming to have attended Earl's Eldora Million in 2001 has doubled since then!)

Best guess for 3 of us for 2 nights including food, gas, and 3 shirts. About $850-$900. We didn't buy any beer inside the dome. That would have added another $200

160 for tickets 5 bucks for gas 40 to park 31 for food but well worth it and will back in a heart beat no matter the cost

Well, not as much as I thought. I spent $80 dollars for hotel right across from track for 2 nights. I spent $70 for tickets for 2 nights. And I spent $20 dollars for gas to and back from Iowa 5 hour drive. And $20 dollars on food. So total of $170 dollars!!!!!! Will be back if they have it again!!!!

I bought 4 tickets the second they went on sale......424 dollars for early bird special which were 2nd row start finish line.
Father in law had comps for our room at the Casino Queen, so I bought his ticket. Friend bought the other 2. Travel from the Bloomington area = tank of gas.
Grand total for me was around 350 dollars all said and done.
Total is for a nondrinker and includes 20 dollar gambling loss.

Calverton: you're like herpes. you can't just show up once and go away. you just keep showing up over and over and over....
you finally attend a race, in your hometown, so you just can't shut up.
this is not an opinion thread. it's looking for information. everyone's experience will be different. hints and suggestions will be found from other posters. i'm sure they have their own woulda, coulda, shoulda takes from this year. the majority do not need your help, unless you are offering housing accommodations to cut the hotel money out of the equation.

$40.00 parking for two nights and about 10 in gas for 2 nights. Had a suite on the backstretch for 2 nights. Spent another 25 or so on snacks and drinks. It's nice to know people.

Was wondering if you could put me in touch with the person to get ahold of about purchasing a suite for next years event. Thanks

Yes, looking for the same information. Or at least an idea on cost so we can prepare in advance. How many people, cost, what's included?

4 people all 3 nights, 2 hotel rooms within walking distance for 3 nights plus parking. $1000.
Doesn't include food and drinks.

Hotel, tickets, rental car, food, and everything else we done, it was around 5-600.

Our rooms were $130 a night a couple blocks away, tickets $80 for 2 nights, we go to Knoxville every year and a bit more expensive but not bad. Main differences were we had to hotel it instead of camping and beer was a lot more expensive inside the dome. $8.50 for a 16oz BL. Had a great time, no problems at all. Had a good time at Ballpark Village after the races were over, lots of stuff to do around the city, just wish the weather would've been nicer.

thanks to all for the responses. I attend races on a limited budget, with my father when possible, and I was curious what costs were. I quit attending nascar races when the lodging industry decided to price gouge to the extreme, so was curious what St L did. honestly, the Knoxville/Pella hotels have become pricier as the LM Nats have grown. and I've never checked what they get for the sprint nationals.
last call: I love the idea of racing in December. but I think I will watch from afar. too many other bigger/better shows I would rather spend my money on in the summer. which is the reason I asked if you would return in year 2 or if this was just for the novelty of the event.
Calverton: almost, but not quite, feeling bad for attacking you. but besides your normal trolling, which usually just has me yelling STFU at my monitor, this show in your hometown pushed me over the edge. I will now go back to my regular routine of just ignoring your incessant babble. have a nice day.

About 900 bucks per suite each night, that was for 12 people and pretty sure that includes pop and popcorn. You could purchase different food packages and the alcohol was cheaper than buying it at the concession stand
