EAMS will be hosting their first race of the season this weekend (Friday night practice, Saturday afternoon/evening racing - one day event!) - the 3rd Annual Groundhog Classic. This event has been in hibernation for about 10 years, but it's back this weekend bigger and better than ever. The headliner of the event will be the NeSmith Crate Late Model first event of their Winter series. A full field of cars is expected, as well as racing in the six classes we race every weekend during our regular season - EAMS Late Model, 602 Late Model Sportsman, Hobby, Street Stock, Road Warriors, and Hot Shots. Practice gets started at 6:00 EST this evening (Friday, February 3rd) with all classes getting at least 3 rounds of practice, time permitting. The track is currently being watered and packed and looks to be in great shape after the track maintenance crew has been working it over and over again during the off season. On Saturday, February 4th, tech begins at the scale area in the pits at 10:00 AM EST. The Drivers Meeting will be held at 12:30 followed by practice in all 7 divisions. At 2:00 time trials for the EAMS LM class and the NeSmith Crate LM class will be followed by heat races in the other 5 divisions and B-Mains in the NeSmith Crate LM division. Feature races will follow - 20 laps in the Hobby, Street Stocks, Hot Shots, 602 LM, and Road Warriors, 25 laps in the EAMS LM class, and a 50 lapper in the NeSmith Crate LM series.
