Still Sad After 8 Years

Manzanita Speedway has been gone for 8 years now. I went to the Western World Sprint Car Championships at Manzy in 2004, 5 years before it closed. It was the only dirt track that I've ever attended where they stopped selling tickets because the place was completely full. Manzy had the best racetrack food I ever had, too.

It's still saddens us that a jewel of a racetrack is gone forever.

Bud Kaeding won the Western World the year we were there. The racing lived up to every expectation we could imagine.
