    Default Gear oil?

What gear oil do you guys recommend? Do I need 50 dollar a gallon oil or can I just go cheaper and change more often? I'm not at trying to be cheap, just curious what different stuff guys are using.

Synthetic works best but you can get good results with a dino 80w90, too.

Q/C aren't as sensitive to gear oil as the 9'' fords.Any good quality oil will give good life. One thing that I found with the low cost oils (house brand type) is, they will give up or break down quicker and need to be changed more often.

We ran Valvoline Synthetic. Found our gears were much cooler when changing them between hot laps/heat/feature. Never had a failure with it in a QC or a 9".

I'm on the valvoline synth wagon too. But we always have added a full small tube of graphite moly powder to it.

    Great wear and smooth operation.
