    quick thoughts:

    must have made some money.

    JMO:
year 1: fantastic gimmick. hope it was a great show for both fans and race teams.

year 2: prove it is viable. crown jewels now cost too much for most race teams to attempt (see car counts). but if fans will pay, let it grow!
And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

In 2017 the event will have one single rd of qualifying for both Super Late Models and Open Wheel Modifieds. There will be a limit on Super Late Model entries of 150 cars and there will be no eliminations on Thursday night qualifying. Open Wheel Modifieds will be capped at 100 total entries with 50 of them coming from performance based results throughout the year at special events as well as specific invitations, including sanctioning body points systems and even fan voting results. The remaining 50 invitations will be received the traditional way and will be accepted first come first serve. Driver registration and entry info will be released at a later date.

Additionally, the event will host a $5,000 to win “Race Of Champions” event on Thursday night for Super Late Models. The ROC will have a variety of ways to qualify throughout the year but it is already known that Scott Bloomquist and Shannon Babb will be invited to compete in the ROC as previous race winners under the dome. Friday nights portion of the event will now feature two different A Mains for Super Late Models, both $5,000 to Win and $500 to start events. The field will be seeded upon qualifying and split, offering fans more racing and more action. Open Wheel Modifieds will have a single main event Friday December 15th at $5,000 to Win and $500 to start. Saturday December 16th will remain as a $10,000 to Win Open Wheel Modified main event and the Super Late Model main event will now be $30,000 to win and $2,000 to start. In addition, $30,000 in tow money has been added toward the event with an overall increase of over $100,000 in prize money over the prior year.

Sound's like Sommer took some legal advice and possibly some physical advice and added Tow money for non qualifier's this year.....Because i sure's h3ll know that alot of Racer's went home highly upset..... I don't know yet how i feel about putting a cap on the number of entrie's of 150 for the SLM and 100 for the OWM.... I understand time and Room for pitting and stuff like that but hey if they want to come and try to make this race then let them and if they Don't Qualify for the big show then have say a $7500 to win $750 to start Non qualifiers race for the SLM and $3000 to Win $300 to start Non qualifier for the Modifieds then that does away with tow money and everyone gets more racing and everyone goes home happy... with the exception of those who didnt make the Big Show's... Just my thought's and maybe a wild dream lol....
If you can't race it or take it to bed! It ain't worth having!
