    Default Dunn Benson ride

Hey guys, I was reading an old 2006 (I believe it was) article on Shannon Babb from Dirt Late Model magazine. In the story he mentioned that he was offered a chance with Dunn-Benson. He stated that he only ran it during Florida speedweeks and didn't do to well and then they replaced him with EPJ (of course the rest was history). But, just curious does anyone have a picture of this car? Was it the same just with a #18 or was it still #1? Thanks for any info.

During that same time-frame, Mr. Lamb hired local (Raeford, NC) driver Sean Beasley. They ran speed-weeks and were preparing for the season, when Sean realized, as a driver, he was not ready for the touring life-style, and politely stepped out of the ride. Mr. Lamb said he was more impressed with Sean in the aftermath of his honesty, than he was before.

I do know the Lambs had a Rayburn and a Rocket at the first race EPJ drove for them. He ended up in the Rayburn when the big motor blew in the Rocket.

    Cool Those were the days.....

During this period, Shannon was wheeling the white G&C family-owned Rayburn, the Dunn-Benson ride, and the black and silver MastersBilt house car (you got those pics Shiny Side?)

This was all before settling in with Bill Moyer, Sr.'s ride, which is when he really took off.

All this stuff was circa 1999-2001.

Don't forget, he also spent the 2008 season with Clint Bowyer Racing.

    Go 18!!

That picture I posted is one I found on Facebook at Shannon Babb Racing Updates. They have quite a few old pictures over there.
