RINGGOLD, GA (January 28, 2017)- The Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series for Super Late Models and the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series would start their 2017 race seasons on Saturday afternoon at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA, with Shannon Buckingham of Morristown, TN winning the 9th Annual Cabin Fever 40 for Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series Super Late Models and Brad Hall of Knoxville, TN winning the Cabin Fever 25 for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series.

Buckingham’s victory in the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series 9th Annual Cabin Fever 40 would come behind the wheel of the Double Down Motorsports owned Fleetwood RV/Tennessee RV Super Center/Grand A Design Recreational Vehicles/Classic Rock 103.5 WIMZ/Hard Rock Café/Smoky Mountain Speedway sponsored #50 Longhorn Chassis, Vic Hill Race Engines powered entry. Hall would claim the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series victory aboard the Brucebilt Performance/Tazewell Chiropractic sponsored #47 Brucebilt Chassis.

Billy Ogle, Jr. would take the lead on the initial start of the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series Super Late Model main event, but it would get called back for a three-car tangle in turn four before everyone completed a lap. The second attempted start would see Shannon Buckingham take the lead, with Billy Ogle, Jr., Justin Litchford, John Ownbey, and David Brannon giving chase. Three more cautions would slow the action before racing finally settled down, with Ogle, Jr. starting to pressure Buckingham for the lead on lap 15. Ogle, Jr. would take the lead briefly on lap 17, but a caution for Donald McIntosh’s slowed machine would negate that pass. Racing resumed and Ogle, Jr. continued to pressure Buckingham for the lead and would pull alongside of Buckingham on lap 28, but Buckingham would maintain the lead, with Litchford closing on the front two at this point. One final caution would slow the action on lap 35, giving Ogle, Jr. one more opportunity to find a way past Buckingham, but Buckingham would prove too tough at the finish and grab the win, with Ogle, Jr. second and Litchford finishing third. Ownbey and Brannon would complete the top five finishers. The remainder of the top ten at the finish would be Dale McDowell, Derek Ellis, Austin Horton, Ray Cook, and Riley Hickman.

Brad Hall would lead all 25 laps of the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series Cabin Fever 25 event, but Shon Flanary and Ray Bollinger would put on a whale of a show for second throughout the event, trading the position on three occasions. Hall would be victorious, with Flanary finally securing the second position at the finish, with Bollinger third. Jimmy Dalton and Justin Cooper completed the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Brian Skaggs, Brad Dyer, Tim Patrick, Jamie Mosley, and Billy Palmer.

The next events for the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Championship Series Super Late Models will be Friday April 7 at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park in Blue Ridge, GA and on Saturday April 8 at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, TN.

The next event for the Brucebilt Performance Iron-Man Modified Division Series will be at Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY on Saturday April 1.
