    Default Illinois Entertainment Tax

Illinois has dug a hole that seems impossible to get out of, and this is the best they can do? The root of this problem like always, is who gets the bill. They still don't want to distribute the bill evenly or to the ones that created the cost. Before we get into how this problem was created or how it should be solved, write your representatives and tell them Race fan didn't create the bill and don't deserve to pay it.

On to why and who should pay. Some would say, it's entitlements. Some would say it's infrastructure. Some would say it's wasteful spending. Some would say it's graft. I would say, some of all these, but most importantly, who uses these things and who should pay the bill. Ideally a dollar made is a dollar taxed. This is not happening. In the first years of this country only a Navy was authorized by Congress. This was to guarentee safe shipping. It was paid for by import / export taxes. Precisely who benefited and they passed cost to customers that indirectly benefited. Truly a fair tax. Now we have Corps that pay low wages, use most of the infrastructure and expect everyone else to pay the bill that supplements the income of their under paid work force and the roads and bridges they benefit most from. We all know this tax would be passed to their customers. There isn't even a attempt being made to pay this tax at a dollar made, a dollar taxed. They bailed at bill paying time, leaving it to the middle class as usual. Does this seem like taxation, with out representation to anyone else?

It is just that. That state is governed not by the will of the people, but by the will of the government. And Chicago ruins it for the rest of the state.

There are Liberal and conservative hack politicians, but worse than that are the people that back them and elect them and absolutely don't think for their self. They see something catchy on TV and it runs their life. The people that put that stuff on TV are who is running IL and the country. The same people that don't want to pay their share of the taxes. They want the cheap labor and they want infrastructure that the middle class pays for. They are the insurance companies that think five are enough for the country or Oil companies that think three is enough for the world. I'm sure they would like less. Lack of competition lends to easy price manipulation.

In some of these districts sometimes what happens is no one runs against them. They are elected unapposed. It happens in both democrat and Republican districts. Where I'm from a Democrat as no chance of winning. It is truly a waste of time and money to run.

We just proved we don't need Ca, Ny, or IL to win national elections. Let them tax and spend all they want. I don't care.

Wish I could, BBQ. It's completely out of the question career wise. There is no alternative for us. Sad, but true.

Oh yes, there most certainly is entertainment in Illinois. Most of the entertainment that is available in Illinois comes from the comedic qualities of the political establishment in chitcago. And they are many. I'd like to say it's free but in reality it costs those of us South of I-80 and West of U.S. Route 47 dearly.

Not familiar with what goes on in Denver, Seattle or San Franpsycho. However, what goes on in chitcago is a well financed, well enforced extreme left wing political machine that has been deeply entrenched in the culture of the city for literally decades upon decades. If a political figure is up the food chain too far to do his own dirty work he will farm it out to well paid political goons who are willing to take the fall for their superiors. These goons' families are also well provided for in the event that said goons are incarcerated, and beyond their incarceration.

For a prime example look no further than former president hussein. Hussein was deeply entrenched in this culture of corruption and he learned very well how to delegate power in such a way as to insulate himself from anything that could stain his reputation as an honest, upstanding public servant. But make no mistake, hussein was baptized in the holy democrat cesspool of dirty chitcago politics. He learned from the best and he learned it good.

Your right CIRF, they have been in power since before the Civil war. The last time they had any party challenge them was the early 1900s That was Socialists and Chicago may have been better off in their hands. Back iin the old days, one of my uncles said, if you voted for their guy, they would buy you a beer and if you didn't, they would bust your head. Above all they knew who you voted for. Now that is real campaigning.

Well we finally agree on one thing. Ill. is basically broke because of Chicago. Just not long ago the Republican Governor cut payments on the Ill. Lottery due to miss handling of lotto funds. The money was to be used for education, it when to Chicago to pay for the broke Teachers pensions. The democrats used their power to sway the treasurer to fund the teachers union pension.I am sure you know that right?

Yes Illinois is broke because of Chicago and the politicians over spending. After Jim Thompson was finally done he had the state in a mess then, Jim Edgar took over and with the help of Madigan they turned the state around and we had a surplus then, George Ryan took over and and between he and Madigan they spent like crazy with his massive infastructure program and from there the spending and stealing the money from the pension system has made a mess of things. We can blame the Democrats for that. Now we have a Governor and Madigan that can't even get a budget passed because, of their ego's and its really taking a toll on this state. It's not like Madigan can't work with a Republican governor because, he did it with Jim Edgar and like I said turned the state around.

Believe me if It wasn't for my family and my wife's mom we would be gone from this state.

Like I said I worked at the Capitol for 20 years so, I seen a lot in those 20 years and made good friends on both sides of the isle.

I live in Ill. also and kind of in the same problem. Wife and family don't want to move. We have had more governors go to prison than any other state, isn't that a great record.

I have to say that is something to be proud of. Most states don't care enough to prosecute. They just walk. Illinois dose not have proprietary rights on criminal government. Maybe more practice . Even the Federal government has a problem, putting the criminals in jail. If the truth be known, the one's that get jail time, get it for stealing from the party, not the public. How dare they steal the stolen goods the Democratic party already stole. That pay to play money, belongs to the party.
