    Default Ignition for 604?

Looking for input for a 604 running RUSH rules. Would like to hear pros and cons for a HEI distributor vs. tradition ignition with MSD box?

In our shop we choose to be an overkill on ignition----using 7 series boxes, high output coils and usually 16 volt batteries
admittedly this is more than needed for crate engines with low compression but by having a topshelf ignition we insure good restarts when fuel mixtures might be less than desirable
It is hard to always have the correct fuel mixture.

we typically also have to deal with many different fuels and a high output ignition will enable us to have more tuning options.

you mentioned running the RUSH series and they are currently using 2 spec Sunoco fuels.
these fuels are a constant so your HEI choice should work just fine in that situation
should you experience sluggish restarts with the HEI ---concentrate on your restart procedure as a driver
I would recommend a somewhat tight plug gap and a 16 volt battery

    hope that helps

That's kinda what I was thinking. Thanks for the reply.
