Logan Roberson Enjoys Strong Speedweeks Swing

Waynesboro, Virginia (02/06/17) – 19-year-old Logan Roberson recently completed a two-week swing through the Sunshine State, where he competed in six Crate Late Model events.

During the course of the busy trek, the pilot of the Wynbridge Inc. #17 Rocketman Racing/ Rocket Chassis Late Model qualified for all six features. He scored three Top-10 finishes, including a runner-up finish at East Bay Raceway Park.

“Obviously it would’ve been awesome to win a feature, but to make all six features was a really big deal in itself for us,” commented Roberson. “That was our primary goal heading down there, so I’m proud to say we accomplished it. There’s so many fast cars and talented drivers, that it’s a big shot in the arm for our team to start our season on such a strong note.”

Roberson kicked off his season on January 26-28 at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) during the Bubba Army Winternationals. During the course of the NeSmith Late Model Series sanctioned events at the 3/8-mile oval, he qualified for all three features, and registered a best finish of 17th.

Action shifted to East Bay Raceway Park (Gibsonton, Florida) on February 2-4, and Roberson would kick things up a notch with his performances.

Entering the 41st annual Winternationals, Logan Roberson was one 37 Crate Late Models signed in at East Bay Raceway on Thursday night for the opening round of the unsanctioned weekend. After recording the 3rd-quickest time overall in qualifying, Logan stormed to heat race victory, putting him 4th on the starting rundown for the A-Main. Wheeling his way into a podium position, Roberson improved two spots in the opening night 25-lap A-Main, notching a runner-up finish behind Mike Pegher Jr. with Doug Horton, Hudson O'Neal, and Devin Dixon completing the Top 5.

The following night in a field of 38 cars, Roberson landed a runner-up finish behind Mike Whitener in his heat race, locking his position into the main. Competing in the Top 10 throughout the feature, Logan ultimately registered an 8th-place finish in the 35-lapper.

For the final night of the 41st annual Winternationals, Roberson had already locked himself into the Top 6 based off his solid performances the previous nights. Receiving the 5th-starting position for the $3,000-to-win feature after the redraw, Logan captured his third Top 10 finish of the weekend. He streaked across the finish line in the 10th- position in the 50-lap affair.
