Tyler Clem Qualifies for Trio of All Star Features; Volusia Next

St. Petersburg, Florida (02/16/17) – 14-year-old, Tyler Clem resumed his Speedweeks 2017 last weekend by taking his Red Line Synthetic Oil #14 Sunoco Race Fuels/ J&J Chassis Sprint Car into battle against the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions (ASCoC) Sprint Cars at Bubba Raceway Park.

The talented young driver raced his way into all three feature events.

“In our area we obviously don’t get much of a chance to race the 410 c.i. Sprint Car so it was pretty awesome to qualify for all three features against such a talented field of drivers,” said Clem. “Hopefully this season we get more chances to run the 410 Sprint Car because I really enjoy the power and the challenge that it presents.”

Tyler Clem hopped behind the wheel of his 410 c.i. Sprint Car on Thursday night at Bubba Raceway Park (Ocala, Florida) to compete with the Arctic Cat ASCoC. With 38 Sprint Cars registered for the three-day event, Clem started the night by laying down the 17th-fastest time overall in a veteran field of drivers. Starting in 3rd for the Kear’s Speed Shot Heat #4, Clem battled the handle as he slipped back to a 7th-place outing, which relegated him to the B-Main. Starting in 3rd, Tyler placed in the Top 4 in the consolation event, locking his spot into the $5,000-to-win A-Main. He would advance a few spots early in the opening night 30-lap main event before ultimately registering a 25th place finish.

In a field of 38 cars again on Friday, Clem posted the 7th-fastest time in qualifying putting him on the pole of Hunt Brothers Pizza Heat #3. Sending the Top 5 into the A-Main, Tyler edged his way into the feature with a 4th-place finish. Rolling off 13th for the main event, Tyler Clem ultimately posted a 16th-place finish.

Continuing his impressive qualifying sessions on Saturday, Clem earned the 4th-starting spot for his heat after timing in 9th fastest in a field of 36 entries. Needing a 5th place finish or better in heat race to qualify for the $5,000-to-win finale, Tyler registered a 3rd-place outing. Bringing home his best finish of the weekend, Tyler Clem fell one position in the 30-lapper scoring a solid 14th-place finish.
