Volusia - Sprint Car over the catch fence

Saw on FB that a Sprint Car went over the fence and into the crowd, anyone heard if everyone is alright? Hate to hear of anything like that happening.

I think UMP rent the track for the Winter Nats, I'm sure they had to acquire insurance for any races they run (even if it wasn't required I can't imagine WRG wouldn't get insurance with so much to lose).

You are right, I made the same mistake (and was corrected then as well) last year, not sure why I can't seem to remember they own the place. I think they rent it to whichever group runs the track for the weekly shows though. Either way I'm sure there is plenty of insurance coverage for incidents such as this.

Not that it matters but hearing it was Dale Blaney's car. Praying for those involved. Might attorneys and insurance cause the remaining races there this week to get cancelled?

Official Statement from WRG on DIRTcar Nationals website: "February 19, 2017 - Three participants in the pit area were injured in an incident at a DIRTcar Nationals World of Outlaws event at Volusia Speedway Park Sunday night when a car went through the fence in turn two. All patients were treated and transported to Halifax Health Medical Center."

blaney flipped over the fence off of 2, it was actually pretty low speed, not even close to saldana's a couple nights ago, kind of a freak deal when it flipped and just got the kick to clear the fence.

Yeah it was bad even from across the track where we were sitting. After just seeing the video of Saldana going over then seeing Blaney go in the same spot. Once the cops blocked off the back stretch we heard the chopper coming to land. My cousin read that 1 of the spectators in that section was interviewed (not sure by who or where it is) heard Blaney freaking out knowing he hit someone. Not that he could help it but I couldn't imagine how he felt.
